Chinese 5-Spice

Pan-roast the following whole spices:

  • 2 star anise
  • 1 cinnamon stick (I smash mine up a little first)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. fennel
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 2 tsp. szechuan pepper

Then grind them into a fine powder.
