Recipes

You can make life tastier & more healthy by avoiding processed foods as much as possible. I even make many of my own condiments & spice blends at home.

This way, you control the amount of salt, oils, & anything else you’re concerned about.

It also gives you the freedom to be creative, and to use things you grow yourself or buy at your local farmer’s market, and it’s less time-consuming than you might think. Things like dressings, sauces, dips & spreads often require no cooking at all – just throwing a few ingredients into the blender.

And, if you’re not cooking from scratch at home, you can’t get your daily servings of beans by eating brownies! They’re excellent, I promise!

Spice Blends

Making your own spice blends has several advantages. One is that it gives you more control over your health by giving you control over your salt intake. Another is that you can make unique blends suited to your own taste. Speaking of taste, freshly-toasted & ground spices are more aromatic & flavorful. And if you’re worried about the purity of the spices you buy, you can be certain all is well if you get the whole spices and grind them yourself. I have a coffee grinder which I use for spices, dried herbs, and flaxseed. It’s invaluable! I don’t know how I ever lived without one.
